My Work
I do research in the field of experimental particle physics at the University of Trieste. I am part of the CMS Collaboration at CERN, where I probe the standard model of particle physics with high-energy proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. I am interested in all aspects of modern fundamental physics, from Higgs boson to quantum gravity. With my research team in Trieste we are exploring the dynamics of the early Universe with high energy heavy ion collisions using hard QCD probes like W,Z bosons with CMS and extracting the hydrodinamics proerties of the Quark-Gluon Plasma. I am interested in new technologies for future colliders, and I collaborate with the International Muon Collider Collaboration for the development of a future collider based on muon collisins. I am actively involved and passionate about outreach and Science communication. Outside academia, I am a post-punk drummer and guitarist and surrealism lover in cinema and art.
